In the heart of Prague, on the “Little Side”, the left bank of the Vltava River, lies the Mandarin Oriental Prague in the historic rooms of a former monastery. Cobblestone streets lead up to Prague Castle in just a few minutes and the famous Charles Bridge is also just a stone’s throw away.
The hotel
The entrance is somewhat hidden. Once you arrive, an oasis of peace opens up, far away from the crowds of tourists. The style of the hotel is modern and straightforward, lovingly complemented with Chinese design elements. The reception with its exotic flower arrangements reminds us of the reception of a private residence and not necessarily of a 5-star grand hotel. Wonderfully luxurious understatement!
The rooms
The 99 classic-style rooms and suites are decorated in cozy cream and sand tones, spiced up with Asian design elements and rich blue tones. Modern luxury ambience meets stylish elegance.
Due to the architecture of the historic building ensemble, no two rooms are the same – but all 79 rooms and 20 suites are really spacious and cozy. The bathrooms are also spacious and have been chicly furnished with warming sandstone and marble.
The spa
Unbelievable! Spa and wellness of the Mandarin Oriental Prague are located in a former Renaissance chapel. A mystical place of tranquillity with very special vibes that make it easy to find inner balance. Treatment rooms, various spa suites, a fitness center including two saunas, cosmetics, a boutique and yoga classes round off the pampering program.
The restaurant
Excellent pan-Asian dishes and cocktails are served at
Spices
on the table. In addition to the restaurant, there is a small bar, a lounge and a relaxed, heated terrace in the inner courtyard. The creations of chef Stephen Senewiratne from Sri Lanka are among the best that Prague has to offer in the field of
Asian cuisine
has to offer. The colleagues from the
Michelin Guide
see it the same way, which is why we really recommend making a reservation.
We have tried it several times:
Pappadam
and
various naan
,
Peking Duck Roll
,
Prawn tempura
and
Pomelo and papaya salad
a traditional
pho
,
Sri Lankan Curry Cod
,
King Crab
or
Beef Ribs
. Further information is available here on the menu.
A highlight for private dinners for up to 20 people is the in-house
Dom Perignon P2 Cellar
in the vaulted cellar, where Senewiratne’s culinary creations from the East are combined with the pearls of the West.
Murmelz Vote
The Mandarin Oriental Prague and Spices are among our hotspots in the golden city on the Vltava. Refined cuisine, modern luxury ambience, an international crowd, relaxed atmosphere. Murmelz likes.
