Let’s drink champagne!
Today on October 27, 2023, we celebrate the sparkling, golden bubbles in the glass with which we like to celebrate all year round. It’s Champagne Day!
The fine wines from France, which have always been cultivated, harvested and pressed according to the strictest regulations of the Comité Champagne, make our lives golden: for special occasions, romantic dinners or a sparkling start to the weekend!
Although we can all indulge in a glass more often, champagne is and remains the queen of drinks and always something special. And today we are toasting to it! Bubbles up!
Favorite Bubbles
All the champagne houses in France boast their unique wines. From the oldest champagne house in the world, Gosset, to the world-famous Moët & Chandon or Veuve Clicquot, or the boutique houses, such as Perrier Jouët, to many small vintner champagnes that present outstanding bubbles. Although the strict designation of origin limits the amount of champagne in the world, there is an incredible variety that is simply a joy to taste.
For Champagne Day, we’re keeping with Coco Chanel and presenting three of our favorites, because:
“I only drink Champagne on two occasions.
When I am in love and when I am not.”
Coco Chanel

The Cuvée RSRV Lalou 2008.
Dhe grapes come from Mumm’s oldest vineyard parcels in the Côte des Blancs. Maturation in the cellars for 10 years allows this champagne to fully develop its personality.
Incidentally, the RSRV is based on the fact that cellar masters used to “reserve” the best barrels for special customers and mark the fine wines with ReSeRVé.
Food pairing: Sweet and salty meat dishes, perfect for the fall and Christmas season. With a St. Martin’s goose with red cabbage or game with orange sauce.
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013.
King of the Queens. Thanks to a good season with a cold, wet spring and a hot, dry summer, the grapes were of outstanding quality. This is reflected in the elegant and full-bodied champagne.
Food pairing: With its perfect balance of
fruitiness
and minerality, it harmonizes with light pasta dishes with white fish or seafood.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow.
The “Widow’s” signature champagne is an all-time classic all over the world and the Arrow edition is the perfect gift for any occasion. The pretty boxes can be personalized with names and the distance to Reims in various colors.
Food pairing:
Thanks to its fine lightness and acidity, this cuvée is a popular aperitif for a special evening. Accompanied by blinis with caviar or Balik salmon.
