New splendor in Bogenhausen
The Bogenhauser Hof has been in Munich for almost 200 years. After around 15 months of extensive refurbishment by the Schörghuber Group, the traditional gourmet temple now shines in new splendor. Operators Karl Rieder and Kian Moussavi present modern cuisine with real personality and sophistication in a listed building with a distinctive interior.
Hannes Reckziegel
Hannes Reckziegel, a native of the Allgäu, is responsible for the kitchen. He is no stranger to Munich, having already made our taste buds dance at the Schwarzreiter restaurant in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski.
At Bogenhauser Hof, the 29-year-old now serves Alpine cuisine with an Asian twist for lunch and dinner. The familiar is combined with the new with great talent and a love of experimentation. The kitchen acrobat mainly uses products from the entire Alpine region. Many producers have been regular partners of the chef for a number of years, including X.O. Beef from Styria, Gutshof Polting from Lower Bavaria and Munich bread artisan Julius Brantner. Vegetables and fish are sourced regionally.
If you fancy relying on the chef’s recommendations, take the Chef’s Choice Menu. On our visit, we chose à la carte and tried the refreshing salmon trout sashimi, an egg baked in panko with grilled romaine lettuce, the Bogenhauser schnitzel with plenty of truffles and a tender monkfish saltimbocca. Inspiring, fine and to the point!
Hand-picked wines & drinks
The well-stocked wine list features hand-picked wines from Germany, Austria, Italy and France. Many of them are rarely found on the lists of German restaurants. This is fun and invites you to try it out. We were happy to rely on the recommendations of the charming and attentive service.
It’s also nice that a different champagne has made it to the house champagne at Bogenhauser Hof. The fine bubbles from Gosset, the oldest champagne house in the world, are served by the glass.
Private Dining & More
There are three themed rooms on the second floor – ideal for family celebrations, company parties or a meal in an undisturbed atmosphere. The South Tyrolean parlor is rustic with wood panelling and heavy oak tables. Opposite is the wine room – a room with Italian décor and a bark-look tree from which the elegant table seems to grow. Ideal for wine tasting. At the end of the corridor is the colorful, cheerful champagne salon. A large oval table, pink seating and wallpaper with pink flamingos, flowers and exotic plants radiate pure joie de vivre!
The various indulgence options are rounded off by the charming bar overflowing with flowers and the large, secluded garden. This makes the Bogenhauser Hof an all-year dining location – not least because Hannes Reckziegel’s menu often changes seasonally.
