The best regional meat from Bavaria and fine spices – that’s all that goes into the sausages from Jochen Donauer and Sascha Haas, the two founders of Munich-based
Wurstschmiede.de
. Since April 2021, they have been presenting five new stars in the shining sausage sky. The BBQ summer can finally begin!
Culinary around the world
The five sausage varieties in their paper packaging are as colorful as the rainbow. Diversity on the plate? Yes. In the best sense. We have already sizzled and tasted them and have to say: even die-hard steak lovers will love the sausages from Wurstschmie.de!
Thai sausage
Wrapped in green is the Thai sausage: the sausage that started it all when Jochen fell in love with the Thai sausage on a trip to northern Thailand in 2011.
Sai Ua
a Thai sausage specialty, during a trip to northern Thailand. A true explosion of flavor on the plate with kaffir lime, lemongrass, fiery chili and coriander, which the creative film editor was able to learn how to make on site: genuine and authentic in the backyard of a private guide’s aunt.
Together with his equally enthusiastic cooking and culinary friend Sascha, a sports journalist, they had to make the sausage at home. From then on, the home kitchen became a test laboratory for a wide variety of sausage recipes. Families and friends became sausage tasters, cookbooks were pored over, butchers and restaurateurs were interviewed. They continued to sausage, fry and grill until the two sausage aficionados were finally satisfied.
“We love sausage. So much so that we made our own. Why? Because we wanted a sausage without chemicals.”,
tell the founders of Wurstschmie.de
100% regional meat from Bavaria
That’s why only the best regional meat from the pork shoulder with proven Bavarian quality is used in the sausages. From farmers who care about animal welfare and whose meat simply tastes better. No additives or slaughterhouse waste, because flavors or preservatives have no place in the little gems from Wurstschmie.de. The sausages are produced in Gröbenzell by Oberbayerische Fleisch- und Wurst GmbH, with whom Sascha and Jochen have brought their own international recipes to product maturity.
Indian curry sausage
A real “Om” for the taste buds is the Indian “curry” sausage with plenty of turmeric, cinnamon and ginger. There is a lot of power and a pleasant spiciness here – the fine aromas of Indian cuisine transport us to the overwhelming world of colorful, bustling cities.
Italian sausage
Elegant and yet full of life: the Italian sausage with fennel, garlic and a pinch of chili – for plenty of amore. If you like salsiccia, you will love this sausage.
Palatinate potato bratwurst
German sausages are of course also a must in the range. But they have to be more sophisticated. Like the Palatinate bratwurst with potato, onion and marjoram. Fine sausage meat with juicy bacon is combined with firm to the bite potatoes to create a classic hearty sausage variation.
Bavarian Leberkas Bratwurst
And because the two Munich natives naturally love their home, the Viktualienmarkt, sunny beer gardens and the Oktoberfest, they have developed their homage to Leberkäs with nutmeg and allspice – the highlight: the mustard is already in it and ensures a slightly sweet but hearty taste experience. O’grillt is!
